Johanne Schröder lives and works in Frankfurt am Main. Her works range from installations and performances to stage and costume designs.
At the center of her work are feminist topics and their larger contexts, with a focus on the question of how we human animals, as the uniquely situated beings that we are, can (better) share a living space together and with each other.
The reason and motivation for her artistic work is the assumption that art is the place where ideas, strategies, utopian ways of being, demands, gaps in knowledge and the unnamable can be explored and tested, uncovered, enlarged and negotiated in an exemplary manner - and that: Bottom-up - decentralized, diverse and discursive.
